The quality of a journal is the outcome of the quality of the incoming manuscripts and the quality of the reviewers. Reviewers are the backbone of any journal and they determine and shape the final performance of a journal. Reviewers should reflect the editorial policy of the journal. CVIR Endovascular is a scientific journal with emphasis on practical and usable information for our readers. The content should be supportive of all IRs worldwide. We see that practical papers are cited and downloaded most.

The main question a CVIR Endovascular reviewer should be asking is: Will this improve or support my own practise?

Of course, good studies and original work are also part of the journal and we see more and more of these papers being submitted. It is all about a balance in the content.

I am very happy to see that we now have a very enthusiastic group of reviewers, with a mix between young and older who do a fantastic job. I want to thank you all for your support, input and helping to make our journal better every year.

I hope that I can count on you in the years to come!

Jim Reekers, Editor in Chief of CVIR Endovascular
